Lindsey Vonn Preseason Training.
Lindsey Vonn Preseason Training.

Ski season is quickly approaching, with some ski resorts across the country potentially opening within a month. As such, if you haven’t started your preseason training, you’d better get it going. If you’re looking for a little inspiration, Lindsey Vonn‘s HIIT workout could be a good place to get going. She does squat jumps, skater holds, lunges, side to sides, criss cross, squats with leg raises, and more, all with a 40 seconds on, 20 seconds off.

Some people might see preseason skiing as a waste of time. Why worry when you can just get in shape on the slopes at the start of the season? But by preparing your body far ahead of time, you can seriously reduce the risk of injury while improving your overall fitness, strength, joint stability, and flexibility so your days on the mountain are longer and happier all season long.

You can find hundreds of different preseason workouts online, from HIIT workouts (High Intensity Interval Training) to lifting and beyond. Both cardio and weight training will be beneficial to the upcoming ski season. Weight training helps with joint stability and strength while reducing the risk of injury. Cardio helps build your endurance so you won’t have to quit your ski days early.

Vonn’s HIIT routine is certainly a good one, but whatever you wind up doing, try to have fun with it. Skiing is about having fun on the slopes, so why can’t the preseason training be about the same?
