Canada โย For those looking to go on an international ski trip this upcoming winter, there are a lot of memorable trips to take in Canada.
In a video by Rise & Alpine, he breaks down the best trip ideas for those who want to explore ski resorts not named Whistler Blackcomb. Some of his ideas include the Powder Highway, Interior Loop, Banff/Lake Louise, Lower Mainland Gems near Vancouver, Surf and Ski in BC, and Northern BC. For more details on these trip ideas, check out the video below.
So why does Rise & Alpine not include Whistler? While a trip to Whistler Blackcomb is great for those who love expansive terrain and modern lifts, it also has its flaws. It’s pricey, crowded during peak times, and has inconsistent conditions depending on the elevation. While it may be a worthwhile trip for Epic Passholders, it may not make sense for those who don’t have one.
While this is a great video guide, I believe that these picks omit ski trips in Eastern Canada. I do think there are some good options for trips in Eastern Canada, which aren’t really addressed in the video. There are some memorable trips around the Eastern Townships, Montreal, and Quebec City. For example, Northeast skiers can have a memorable weekend trip by visiting ski resorts like Mont Orford, Owl’s Head, and Bromont in the Eastern Townships. While these are less snowy places than out west, they do feature varied terrain.
