Shocking footage from the slopes of Alyeska Ski Resort in Girdwood, Alaska where a local moose was caught on camera sparking an electrical explosion with its antlers. The incident occurred during the annual moose mating season knowns as the rut when bull moose abandon their solitary way of life to compete for breeding rights with cow moose.
During the rut bulls engage two type of physical competition to win breeding rights with cows, sparring when they use their antlers to push back and forth with no attempt to injure each other and fighting when moose throw down in violent clashes frequently suffering injuries ranging from minor to fatal.
Hard to say if this was a case of mistaken identity or merely a moose practicing its moves before a real battle but whatever the case may be taking on a chairlift electrical box exploded causing a huge fire ball and shower of sparks. Unconfirmed but there is a humor the animal is facing a moosedemeanor charge for his involvement.
