Crews at Sugarbush Ski Resort in Vermont were hard at work over the summer installing a new surface lift over at Mt. Ellen to improve the beginner experience on that section of the mountain. During the construction phase Sugarbush asked its guests to submit suggestions for its name and responses came in the hundreds.

Submissions ranged from the cutesy like “Wee Glider” to the comical like “Fart Trapper” and it was a tough decision but they landed on “Easy Up” thanks to local skier Andrew Murdock. Murdock will receive two lift tickets for the winning recommendation:

“Well, that was fun. You named the lift. After sifting through hundreds of submissions (some amazing, some absolutely feral), we picked a winner! Congrats to Andrew Murdock for pitching the name “Easy Up” which pairs nicely with the trail it’s connected to Easy Does It. As the winner, Andrew scored a pair of lift tickets on us. The honorable mentions that made us laugh, cringe, and wonder what’s in your hot chocolate. Huge thanks to everyone who threw a name in the hat, you guys crushed it. And hey, please don’t roast us too hard for not picking your favorites.

No official word on when Sugarbush will open for the 2025/2026 ski season but if you are interested in a season pass, we suggest purchasing before October 10th when the price is set to increase from $289.
