Aspen, Colorado — Aspen is known for its luxurious homes. However, none of them are like 161 Stillwater Drive.
Priced at $300 million (surprisingly not a typo), the compound features 18 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. Finally, a home in my desired price range.
This 74.1-acre compound includes multiple homes. The 18,466-square-foot primary residence, known as the Little Lake Lodge, boasts numerous luxurious features. There’s also the approval to build a second 19,750-square-foot residence. There are also a couple of homes on site for guests and staff members. Some of the amenities include an 80-foot infinity pool, a hot tub, access to the Roaring Fork River, and a wide array of activities on Little Lake. As it stands, it’s the most expensive home for sale in the United States.
For skiers, the pro is that it’s only a mile away from Aspen. There are cross-country trails across the compound. I feel that if you’re an avid downhill skier, this probably isn’t the right home for you, as there are nicer homes much closer to the action in Aspen.
According to Newsweek, the property is owned by Lynda and Stewart Resnick, who are the richest farming couple in the country. They own the Wonderful Company, which is mainly focused on selling nuts. They also own beverage companies, such as FIJI Water and POM Wonderful, as well as the Teleflora flower delivery service.
