Mikaela Shiffrin is on the ground in Chile where she is training on the world class slopes of Valle Nevado. Shiffrin has been in South America since mid-August training for the upcoming World Cup and Olympic competition schedule with the US Ski Team and she just arrived to Valle Nevado which she hasn’t skied in a decade but is dear to her heart:
“It’s been 10 years since I’ve been training here so it so good to be back. So nice conditions, beautiful sunny weather. It brings me back to my early days ski racing so it’s really nice.” –Mikaela Shiffrin
Shiffrin has been hard at work over the summer coming off a historic comeback season that began with a nasty injury suffered during a giant slalom crash at the Killington World Cup in November 2024 that sidelined her for two months. She battled back from her injury and secured her milestone 100th World Cup in February in Italy. Stoked to see one of the best ever do it back in top form gracing the slopes this iconic Chilean resort.
“We are honored to welcome her back to our mountain, where some of the world’s top northern hemisphere athletes come to prepare for the season ahead.” -Valle Nevado
