Brian Head, Utah โ Thanks to its proposed expansions, Brian Head Resort has been making a lot of headlines recently. Over in Brian Head’s existing skiable footprint, its operator, Mountain Capital Partners, is eyeing the ski resort’s longest season ever.
This week, Brian Head announced its projected operating schedule for the 2025-26 season. The projected opening date at Brian Head is November 7th, which puts it ahead of Solitude’s predicted opening date by one week. Brian Head is planning to end its daily operations on May 10th, but the ski resort has extended the skiing and riding schedule during prior seasons. If they’re able to pull off this planned daily schedule of 184 days, it would be Brian Head’s longest season ever. The 2024-25 season saw 181 days of skiing and riding.
Access to the mountain is expected to be as affordable as ever. Lift tickets for next winter are being offered for as low as $14 a day, which is a decrease year-over-year by 26%. Kids ages 12 and under ski or ride for free any day of the season.
Work is ongoing this offseason on $1.4 million in improvements, including snowmaking upgrades, new rental equipment, and a rejuvenated setup over at the Bypass terrain park.
โThanks to our snowmaking upgrades, guests this season can look forward to more terrain opening earlier and staying open later,โ said Amber Palmer, marketing manager at Brian Head Resort. โOur expanded dynamic pricing model helps make that experience more accessible, with affordable lift tickets and free skiing for kids 12 and under.โ
This news follows the public comment process opening up for Brian Head’s expansion. The southern Utah ski resort is trying to triple in size, with it aiming to expand its skiable acres on National Forest land by 382 acres. This is not to be confused with the Aspen Meadows plan, which will add another 850 skiable acres of terrain and seven lifts to the ski resort. Some of that expansion, which is not on US Forest Service land, could open during the 2026-27 season.
