Yellowstone National Park saw a 2% decrease in July visitation between July 2025 and July 2024. According to the latest visitation data from the National Park Service, this past July saw 975,109 recreation visits to the park, while July 2024 saw 992,352 recreation visits. This July also marked a significant 10% drop from July 2021, when Yellowstone recorded 1,080,767 visits during its record-breaking year of over 4.8 million total recreation visits.

Yellowstone 2025 Visitation Statistics

Despite the July dip, Yellowstoneโ€™s 2025 season is still one of the most visited in the park’s history. Year-to-date visitation through July reached 2,666,031, up 1.5% from 2024โ€™s 2,626,091 visits. However this figure is nearly flat compared to 2021โ€™s 2,668,765 visits, showing a stabilization in post-pandemic travel trends. For context, hereโ€™s how Yellowstoneโ€™s year-to-date visitation stacks up over recent years:

  • 2025: 2,666,031
  • 2024: 2,626,091
  • 2023: 2,462,535
  • 2022: 1,855,396 (impacted by a historic flood, closing the park from June 13โ€“21)
