The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the agency helped rescue an injured skier at St. Mary’s Glacier, a semi-permanent snowfield located in Arapaho National Forest, on Monday, August 11th.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report that a skier had run into rocks and was need of rescue at 5:45pm. The Alpine Rescue Team took the lead on the rescue mission along with Clear Creek Fire and Clear Creek EMS. Yesterday evening the Sheriff’s Office confirmed a Medevac helicopter was en route and with an expected arrival time of 8:20pm.

Additional information including the extent of the injured skier’s injuries is unclear but we will be sure to follow up when more information becomes available.
