Enjoy this heart pumping footage from Lewis Buchanan who travelled to the Nevis Range in Scotland and sent it down the famous wooden planks of Top Chief in what he claims as a record time.
The Top Chief Trail is renown for its lengthly boardwalk sections and is considered by many to be the longest wooden bike trail in the world but if we are going by pure distance, The SR Suntour Flow Trail at Ray’s Indoor MTB Park in Cleveland, Ohio is actually longer measuring in at nearly 1 mile. Not to throw shade on Ray’s, which is a truly amazing place, but not sure if it would be classified as true trail to mountain bike purist.
Full Length Ride Down Top Chief:
“It’s so well built but it’s scary. The north shore is just ridiculously good. Chicken wire on the wood will help maintain the grip. That said, don’t go silly on it if you’ve not ridden it before. The speed creeps up on you big time. Hit Top Chief with the respect it deserves and you’ll be buzzing all the way down.”
