Park City, Utah — As we inch closer to ski season, more details are emerging regarding the biggest terrain expansion in North American ski history.

The marquee lift of the seven that will open next winter at Deer Valley is the East Village Gondola. Starting at the new East Village, the gondola will connect to Park Peak and include a mid-station at Big Dutch Peak. Construction continues on these lifts, as the lift towers were installed for the East Village Gondola and the Pioche Express.

This week, the Ikon Pass and Deer Valley collaborated on a post that detailed the lift installation and what the gondola will feature when it opens.

The video revealed various statistics about the lift. The nearly three-mile-long gondola has a total of 40 lift towers, and the ride time to the top will be 14.5 minutes. The gondola will have an uphill capacity of 3,000 people per hour. Each night, the 142 ten-person gondola cabins will be stored in a storage barn situated next to the Park Peak Lodge.

This gondola, along with six other new lifts, are scheduled to open during the 2025-26 season.
