Stranded boaters on Colorado’s Green Mountain Reservoir in Summit County were rescued after spelling out “HELP” using logs on the shore.

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, several reports came in to deputies of the stranded boat. The “HELP” spelled out with logs had been visible from Highway 9, allowing multiple people to report the incident.

It was eventually determined that the rental pontoon boat had broken down and required assistance, and employees from Heeney Marina responded to assist the stranded boaters.

The Green Mountain Reservoir is about 10 miles south of Kremmling along State Highway 9. Fishing, camping, boating, hiking, and plenty of other activities are available around the body of water.
