Valle Nevado Ski Resort in Chile just checked in with a quick recap video of their first week of winter operations for 2025 and it looks like they are off to an incredible start.

An early season storm cycle allowed Valle Nevado to open a week early, marking the second consecutive year to be first ski resort in Chile to start spinning lifts. Perched at 9,925 feet, Valle Nevado offers access to the largest interconnected ski area in the Southern Hemisphere and is just a 90 minute drive from Chile’s capital city, Santiago. International flights into Santiago from major hubs stateside are plentiful and getting to the mountain is simple once you’re wheels down. If you’ve never experienced skiing in the Southern Hemisphere, perhaps this is the year?
