Alan Henceroth thank you letter to Arapahoe Basin guests and employees

There were tons of speculations about the future of Arapahoe Basin after the February 2024 announcement that the iconic Colorado ski resort was being to sold to Alterra and all along the way Chief Operating Officer Alan Henceroth has been at the forefront providing transparency about the transaction and how it would effect operations.

After a highly successful season during what would some predicted would be tumultuous times, Henceroth penned a thank you note on his blog to the resorts’ guests and employees:

Thank you for another great season at Arapahoe Basin. We had awesome, steady snowfall throughout the season. Every time it “needed” to snow, it did snow. Consistently, day in and day out, the skiing and riding were a blast. With the sale to Alterra and the introduction of parking reservations, we saw changes. Those changes have worked well. We never had any highway or crowding problems. The vibe and the spirits were high. The core of all we do is to make the experience extraordinary for our guests and our employees.

It was not easy, but I am very pleased with how the season went. The icing on this cake of a season was an exceptional final weekend of Lake Reveal pond skimming. Like I always do, I will cherish the summer, rafting, bike riding, backpacking and spending quality time with family and friends. As beautiful as Summit County summers are, they are short and they go by quickly. We will be making snow and skiing before you know it.

Come join us this summer for some hiking, mountain biking, disc golfing, chairlift riding, Via Ferrata and Aerial Adventure Park climbing, 6th Alley dining, event celebrating and general all around A-Basin fun. Again, thank you so much.

-Arapahoe Basin COO Alan Henceroth
