We’re just about to get into closing weekend for both Arapahoe Basin in Colorado and Mammoth Mountain in California, so bust out your jorts, swimsuits, ski blades, monoskis, and whatever other gear you use to celebrate the end of an epic ski season and get ready to head into the mountains.
Arapahoe Basin is closed today (Thursday) but will reopen on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this weekend for the season ender on June 15th. Black Mountain Express and Lenawee Express will spin from 8:30am to 2pm on the final three days, servicing just a handful of trails.
Closing weekend will likely be quite the party at the Colorado ski area. Lake Reveal, the mountain’s famous pond that opens up for skimming towards the final few weekends of the season, started to really shine last weekend and will likely be quite the lake by Friday. After closing day, Arapahoe Basin will be closed until the start of summer operations on June 27.
Mammoth Mountain is also getting ready for closing weekend, though they’ve been open through this week as well. The Panorama Gondola will spin on June 14 and 15 for closing weekend laps, while Broadway Express, Face Lift Express, and Chair 23 are still spinning. 10 trails are currently open to skiing and snowboarding.
Lifts are spinning from 7:30am to 1pm on the last few days of the ski season, with June 15th featuring free donuts and coffee at McCoy Station and one last group run from The Summit. There’s still time to complete the Mammoth Trifecta while we’re at it, skiing, biking, and playing golf all in one day.
