Tragic news out of Alberta, Canada where a 34-year-old Lake Louise resident died on the morning of May 27th in a backcountry skiing accident near Moraine Lake in Banff National Park.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police reports Parks Canada received an emergency call at around 7am of a female skier falling a โ€œconsiderable distance.โ€ Parks Canada visitor safety specialist responded to the scene along with a STARS air ambulanceย but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s bodyย was extracted via a long line from Alpine Helicopters.
