Layton City Fire Department in Utah responded to a technical rescue in Adam’s Canyon on Monday, May 28, after an individual fell over 20 feet near a waterfall.

According to the fire department, multiple bystanders including a nurse provided aid until the rescue crews arrived. The patient was then stabilized on the scene with assistance from Davis County Search and Rescue before Life Flight hoisted the individual out.

The fire department reminds hikers to prepare for changing weather conditions while out on the trail in order to stay safe. They encourage hiking with caution near water a steep terrain.
