Arc’teryx athlete Élise Poncet smashed the women’s round-trip ski ascent record of Mont Blanc by over 30 minutes on Friday, May 16, completing the trip in a total time of 6 hours, 54 minutes, and 47 second.

Her record attempt began at 5am from the church in Chamonix. The route required just under 22 miles (35km) of climbing and skiing over about 12,467 feet (3,800 meters) of elevation gain.

Élise is most well known for her medals in the running scene, but she brings over a decade of experience in both trail running and alpinism into the record attempt.

“A mix of my two big passions – endurance performance and high mountains with alpine terrain, I am super happy to complete this project” – Élise Poncet
