Fashion giant Ralph Lauren has recently added skis and snowboards to their “Lifestyle Accessories” category along with items like $105 umbrellas and $125 mouse pads. Interestingly the gear is not intended for actual use on the mountain rather as decoration only:
“Item is intended for decorative purposes only. Do not use for any physical activity.” -Ralph Lauren
High end skis and snowboards can command prices commensurate with what Ralph Lauren is asking (skis $1,950/snowboard $1,750) but unlike these lifestyle accessories, purchasers actually get to enjoy them on the slopes rather than admire them in their living room.
