A 55-year-old male climber was rescued after falling in Colorado’s Eldorado Canyon State Park on Tuesday, April 22.
According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, a report of an injured & unconscious climber in the canyon came in around 6:49pm. The male was tied into a rope and being belayed on the Wind Tower with his climbing partner, but he still managed to fall around 15 feet.
Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and Mountain View Fire Protection District units were able to reach the climber in under 20 minutes, providing medical treatment and placing the injured man into a litter for evacuation. The climber was then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment by ambulance.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Park and Wildlife, Mountain View Fire Protection District, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group all assisted in the rescue.
