Olympic Valley, California — North America’s ski resorts are full of challenging trails, including Big Couloir, Corbet’s Couloir, and Delirium Dive. But how about the lines that aren’t on the trail map?
In a video by Aaronventures, he tries to find the hardest line to ski in North America. He analyzed Squallywood, the Robb Gaffney book that has inspired many to tell random strangers that they’re the best skier on the mountain.
After reading through the book, he ultimately concludes that the High Line on Eagle’s Nest is the most challenging line in North America. The High Line is infamous for its steepness and consequential hazards, as it’s a steep rock face that features mandatory air. Not many skiers have taken it on, with legends like Shane McConkey and Scott Gaffney having mixed results on it. The line is made more tricky by trees that are situated near the landing zone. You have to fully commit to the line, or you’re completely screwed.
