There’s no better way to close off a day on the mountain than with good beer and some greasy bar food. When dinner is waiting for you at home but you’re still looking for something to bring you back to life after a day of crushing moguls and shredding powder, you can’t go wrong with one of these seven killer après appetizers.

Fried Pickles – Nothing hits quite like the crispiness of a fried pickle dipped in some killer house ranch. Plus, it’s a vegetable, so it can’t unhealthy, right?

Fondue – Cheese fondue is usually the go-to after skiing, though chocolate fondue would be acceptable as well. Munching on some bread, meats, and vegetables covered in melted cheese is a great way to feel fancy and European.

Sliders – Slide down the slopes into your favorite bar for a couple of delicious sliders, whether they’re standard cheeseburger sliders or something a little more fancy. This can satisfy your burger cravings even if you’re returning home to eat something lame for dinner.

Soft Pretzel – Bread, salt, and mustard. Three flavors that combine beautifully and go great with a good beer. They’re usually one of the cheeper options on the appetizer list and are easy to share with others or eat by yourself.

Poutine – The Québécois really nailed it when they came up with this one. French fries? Delicious. Cheese curds? Delicious. Gravy? Delicious. All three combined? A greasy plate of combined flavors that’ll restore your energy and willingness to party at the end of a ski/snowboard day.

Wings – Probably one of the most classic appetizers out there, especially for bars. The classic (and correct) way to eat these is with a good buffalo sauce, blue cheese, and a side of celery. Get fancy with it and order some funky flavors, or show off to your friends and order the inferno spice (just try not to cry as you choke it down).

Nachos – If your après bar doesn’t have nachos on their appetizer menu, you’re in the wrong après bar. No forks or spoons allowed, just hands, so nobody feels bad about getting messy. The combination of flavors, meats, cheeses, salsas, and toppings create the greatest, gooiest après snack you can ask for.
