Spring may officially start tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean the snowfall season has come to an end. Several ski areas across North America could see some proper snowfall between today and next Monday, and if Meteorologist Chris Tomer‘s forecast holds true, that includes up to a foot of new snow for mountains in the northeast.
Throughout the 3/19-3/24 time period, the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia seem on track to be the biggest winners. Both Timberline Lodge and Whistler Blackcomb could see around 36 inches, while Mount Baker and Mount Bachelor are looking at closer to 30 inches. Further East, Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, and Schweitzer are slated to see another 20 inches of snowfall, while resorts in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming could see a foot or more.
The big story for this time period looks to be in the Northeast where, through the 24th, some areas could see between 8-12 inches of new snowfall. Mount Washington specifically is looking at around a foot, while ski resorts in Maine and New Hampshire could see about 10 inches. In Vermont, most areas are looking at 7-8 inches of new snow.
