Colorado’s Winter Park Resort shared a story worthy of a block-buster movie deal to their social media. It’s the tale of a delicious ski resort snack and the skier who refused to sit back as it disappeared.
The Winter Park Derailer Bar is a fantastic spot for après drinks and snacks, with a good range of menu options for hungry skiers and snowboarders. One of their more unique menu options, the Derailer Waffle Fry Nachos, sadly left the menu back in 2023.
But skier Alex Daniel refused to sit back and let the waffle fry nachos disappear. He relentlessly commented on Winter Park’s Instagram posts, requesting that they bring the menu item back, commenting week after week, day after day.
Eventually the Winter Park social media team started to comment back, and @fritosscoopspartysize started to gain a bit of a following through his comments. He dared them to bring it back, he Christmas wished them to bring it back, and he never gave up.
Finally, this spring, Winter Park is caving to the requests. The delicious looking, and now famous, Derailer Waffle Fry Nachos have returned to the menu at Winter Park’s Derailer Bar.
