A simple Instagram post has sparked a hot online debate about whether or not you should be able to hold your place in a chairlift line by leaving your equipment.

Thomas Miller posed the question after he came upon a row of vacant skis lined up at Peru Express Chairlift at Keystone Ski Resort. The vast majority of commenters think this type of “spot saving” is entitled behavior and either the resort should handle similar situations internally with policies or case by case basis or any skier or snowboarder who stumbles across equipment holding spots for first chair has the right to remove them and claim their position in line.
