Heartbreaking news from the world of snowboarding as 38-year-old Australian Luke “The Dingo” Trembath has died. Dingo became a pro snowboarder at age 17 and gained notoriety starring in the Fuel TV show The Adventures of Danny and The Dingo with his good friend Danny Cass. Luke and Danny also cofounded Grenade Gloves. Dingo went on to be a snowboarding personality universally loved by the industry and host of the Unleashed podcast. Luke also co-founded Find Your Grind, which mentors youth in finding a career path in life.
Tributes to Dingo have poured out from across the world of action sports. Here are just a few. RIP Dingo.
Danny Cass:
“I have nothing but incredible memories of you Luke. You stood by me through anything and everything. I’m blessed to have had so many adventures, laughs, tears, and cheers together. You proved to the world that anything is possible. You inspired people to believe they could achieve anything. You were a rock to so many and would do anything for your friends and family. Thank you to everyone who has reached out in support, my heart is with all of you. I love you Luke and will never stop. I wish we could do it all over again and make even more mistakes. These photos are just a few so please share more with me and the world.”
Tony Hawk:
“Words cannot describe the joy this guy brought to every gathering. His laughter was magically contagious, and he revered our culture because he was shaped by it. My favorite memory is teaming up with him at Mammoth Film Festival for a celebrity bowling tournament and destroying Dennis Rodman’s team in the process. Thank you Dingo for being The Great Connector in our fragmented world. We were lucky to have you. The void you leave behind will cannot be filled.” -Tony Hawk

Selema Masekela:
“This doesn’t feel real. It will never feel real. I can’t even write all the words that I wanna say about you. It’s 25 years worth of words. It’s gonna take a long time to process that you are no longer here. The kindest, funniest, minister of joy, care and compassion that ever stood sideways. There was no limit to your love. No world you couldn’t casually enter and win over. Your heart was the size of a blue whale’s. Your laugh was that of an 85 year old who lived 100 lives. Even when you were 20. We were laughing about the past, present and future two weeks ago. You were perhaps the most contagious human being I think I’ve ever met. You were literally larger than life. I remember early on, when you used to call me and ask me to show you the way. I told you, there’s nothing I can show you, YOU ARE THE WAY. You did you and then some Dingo. Gonna miss you mate. A lot. This one cracks the heart open. LEGEND”

Jaie Toohey:

We shared some pretty amazing memories together throughout all the years we have known each other and those I will hold onto forever. Along with the millions of other people you made massive impact on along the way.

Travis Rice:
“Luke…. It was a pleasure! I was lucky enough to get to really know Luke while traveling with the Steamboat snowboard team in the late 90’s and what can be said, he was always such a pleasure to be with… Someone who brightened the environments he existed in. He must have a more important, pressing role to attend to in his next incarnation… Thank you Luke….God speed my friend, you will be missed….”
