Denver got a nice smattering of snow last night (enough that I was seriously considering trying to ski some of the foothills today), but the real snowfall winners were in the Front Range of the I-70 corridor. Several resorts saw a nice helping of snow, with totals reaching towards a foot in some areas.
Both Arapaho Basin and Loveland are reporting 10 inches of new snowfall in the past 24 hours, with Loveland claiming 8 inches in the past 12 hours alone. That brings Loveland’s 48 hour total up to 14 inches and 72 hour total up to 19″. Arapahoe Basin’s 48 hour total sits at 10″, though 9 of 9 chairlifts are spinning and 116 of 146 trails are open to skiers and snowboarders.
Keystone Resort is reporting 11 inches of snowfall over the past 24 hours with 12 inches coming down in the past 48 hours. Their seven day snow total is a hefty 47 inches, or just under four feet. Keystone’s season total is currently at 201 inches. 14 of 21 lifts and 81 of 140 trails are open to skiers and snowboarders today (Friday, Feb 21).
Winter Park was the real winner from this storm, with a foot coming down in the last 24 hours. A peak at their snow stake live camera (cleared every day at 4:00pm) shows what looks like nearly 13 inches since it was last cleared, and snow still seems to be coming down (as of 9:30am on Friday, February 21). Their 2-day total is up to 17 inches and their 3-day total is up to 27″. 158 of 171 trails are open and 21 of 24 lifts are spinning.
