Charlemont, Massachusetts — What seemed like a decent snowstorm for New England ended up leaving behind a lot of damage. Heavy wind gusts, snow, and mixed precipitation ended up leaving thousands in Western Massachusetts without power. Luckily, a local ski resort came to the region’s assistance.

In a video shared yesterday, Jon Schaefer from Berkshire East detailed the work they’ve done to help out locals get their power back. Earlier this week, Berkshire East brought their snow groomers to areas where National Grid (the local electricity company) needed assistance to get the power back on for residents. With their ability to move snow quickly, these snow groomers expedited the process to get the power back on. When they needed help to get the power back on at Berkshire East, National Grid came to their assistance to get the mountain operational.

As of Friday afternoon, Berkshire East has 29 trails open, and 4 out of 5 lifts are operating.
