Warning for the weak hearted, this is a pretty heinous video of professional skier Owen Leeper ricocheting off the walls of a chute as he loses control in a small avalanche.
The crash, filmed in the backcountry around Jackson Hole, only wound up dislocating his shoulder and needing a few stitches in his knee. While that doesn’t sound great, it could have been a whole lot worse.
Leeper’s shoulder was eventually relocated about three hours after the accident. He’s recovered quite well since the crash, returning to skiing and jumping off cliffs like the absolute monster that he is.
