Skier Andrej Dobrík shared footage of a brutal powder day collision with his snowboarding friend Martin Remiar, using the clip to remind the public that, even when the conditions are great, everyone should ski and ride with caution and take it easy.
It’s a bit difficult to see where Remiar pops out, but Dobrík explains that it was on off-piste trail, and Remiar was not hidden in the tree line. Instead, Remiar was leading the run, and Dobrík failed to adjust his speed and skiing to match.
Fortunately neither skier nor snowboarder wound up injured, but he admits that it could have been a lot worse. Always remember that, as the uphill skier, you’re responsible for ensuring that you don’t collide with those behind you. Slow down at blind spots, and always be prepared to stop when necessary.
