The Utah Department of Transportation Cottonwood Canyons X (formerly Twitter) account shared footage of a large avalanche ripping down the side of a mountain in Little Cottonwood Canyon this past weekend.

The slide came alongside a road closure of SR-210, with the UDOT avalanche crew continuing to mitigate along the canyon. Slides did hit the road, forcing crews to work on clearing away snow where possible.

Information and status of Utah’s Cottonwood Canyons is available through the UDOT website here.
