Sincere appreciation going out to The Summit County Rescue Group who have once again opened their avalanche transceiver park to the public. The park is a free resource for folks who want to train on proper use of avalanche beacons.

Located the in the Frisco Adventure Park, the park has multiple transceivers buried in the snow and a control station to activate specific transceivers for practice. Mark your calendars because The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is hosting a free public training event will be held at the park on Janurary 11th from 10am to 2pm.

Whether you have never used an avalanche beacon before or if you just want to sharpen your skills, this is an incredibly handy facility and we are thankful to have it.

Avalanche Transceiver Park Now Open!

Our Avalanche Transceiver Park is officially open to the public! This free training spot is perfect for anyone looking to learn or sharpen their avalanche transceiver skills, located in the Frisco Adventure Park.

How it works:

Multiple transceivers are buried in the snow.

Use the control station to activate specific transceivers for practice.

Make sure to turn everything off when you leave.

Reminder: This park is for locating and probing only—please don’t dig in the park.
