Olympic Valley, California – It was shaping up to be a great weekend for concertgoers at Palisades Tahoe. The California ski resort received a lot of snowfall, and the Tahoe Live concert series included lots of great acts. The lineup included two major acts: Diplo and Lil Wayne.

However, a strange series of events resulted in Lil Wayne not performing this past weekend. This was bizarre based on Wayne not exactly moving in silence this past weekend. Wayne was initially scheduled to perform on Saturday evening but rescheduled to Sunday. This was understandable, as it was a snowy stretch for the Tahoe region. However, some were surprised to see Wayne at the Heisman Trophy ceremony Saturday evening, as he saw his buddy Travis Hunter take home the coveted award. People anticipated him showing up on Sunday, which was shaping up to be a big night, with Wayne and Diplo scheduled to perform on Sunday evening.

Last night, Tahoe Live announced that Lil Wayne wouldn’t perform at all. Tahoe Live said they’re looking into the matter as to why he canceled. The announcement annoyed many attendees, who requested a refund due to Lil Wayne canceling on such short notice.

We’ll keep you posted on the reasoning behind the decision and whether refunds will be issued.

Update 12/19- Tahoe Live has issued the following statement:

We are aware of the different theories circulating online and we want to make it very clear that we didn’t know in advance and informed the attendees when we found out. We also tried everything we could to change the outcome.

We put months of efforts and preparation into this event and we were as disappointed as anyone else. It’s the unfortunate reality of what we do as event promoter, we don’t control the weather and the artist’s decisions.

We dealt with the challenges as they came and turned our focus to the people that helped us make this great event happen. We want to thank all of the artists who performed and offered an amazing experience to everyone present. Also, we want to thank the team at Palisades Tahoe for their continuous help and support. Most importantly, we are extremely grateful to all the fans that braved the weather, came dance with us, and brought in an amazing energy! They are the reasons we put all these efforts in this event and they are the foundation of Tahoe Live. We fully intend to address all attendees who have ticket inquiries to please email support@yoop.app. We will respond to every inquiry that comes our way.
