Mikaeal Shiffrin just posted this status update on her recovery after suffering a puncture wound and significant muscular trauma around right oblique area during a crash on her final giant slalom run at the Stifel Killington Cup. Mikaela crashed through two gates and at some point was impaled in her side. Her exact return date to the racing circuit is undetermined but it will be at least a few weeks:
“Oh look, I’ve been impaled. Gonna be a minute like a few weeks minimum to be able to take on much of any force. Thank you all again for every ounce of love and support, in the grand scheme, it’s a small pot hole (pun intended), and I’m very thankful for that!”
