Spirits were as Mikaela Shiffrin led after her first run of the women’s World Cup giant slalom in Killington, Vermont. The crowd was energized with hopes that she would secure her 100th victory in front on home soil. Unfortunately during her second run she was late to a gate and ended up sliding into the b-netting.

Mikaela Shiffrin was taken down in a sled and ended up in the for further evaluation. We are happy to report she only suffered minor injuries but will not be skiing today at the slalom event, which she has won six out of seven times at Killington.

“Not really too much cause for concern at this point, I just can’t move. I have a pretty good abrasion and something stabbed me. I’m so sorry to scare everybody and it looks like all scans so far are clear, so thank you for the support and concern.” -Mikaela Shiffrin

Mikaela made an update from her hospital bed in Vermont and seems to more annoyed and hurt. Get well soon!
