France — After a scary situation atop Cima Caron last week, a video of the incident has emerged.
Last week, the Cima Caron tram crashed into the top terminal, leading to eight injuries. The tram was full of workers who were constructing a new restaurant. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but Albertville public prosecutor Anne Gaches said that it could have been caused by human error. According to The Connexion, the lift was reportedly in manual mode, which isn’t used when passengers are typically on board. The weather also could’ve factored in, as it was cloudy with heavy winds at the time of the crash.
This video, shared by TikTok user djackiflissen, shows the tram cabin hanging in a peculiar position. While it doesn’t show the crash, the video does give an idea of the conditions that could have led to it.
Val Thorens opened for the season on Friday. The Cima Caron lift remains closed.
