Kensington, Minnesota — After a long wait, there will be lift-serviced skiing and riding in the Midwest this weekend.

The first to open was Andes Tower Hills. On Wednesday, snowmakers at Andes started making the white stuff across the mountain. The day after, the Minnesota ski area announced that it will be opening up today. The Bunny Hill is open, which is serviced by the Turtle Express Magic Carpet. The Minnesota ski area will be open today from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

However, Andes Tower Hills isn’t the only ski area in the Midwest that is making snow. According to Midwest Skiers, Afton Alps, Bottineau Winter Park, Hyland Hills, Huff Hills, Little Switz, Powder Ridge, Steeplechase, and Terry Peak made snow earlier this week. However, a warm up temporarily stopped some of these ski areas from making snow.

However, it seems like only time before more ski areas in the Midwest open for the season.
