Stio athlete Brody Broderick is a badass skier who hasn’t missed a season in 32 years. After a suffering a spinal cord injury, Brody transitioned to sit-skiing and quickly became focussed on getting back into the off-piste terrain that he loved so much prior to his accident.
Brody soon discovered that ski-skiing technology had plateaued since it was first developed 50 years ago and decided to start experimenting to create equipment that could keep up with his athletic capabilities and desire to get off groomers and into the goods.
Brody has been working with the folks at Armada Skis who agree its time to refine a purpose built mono-ski to progress the world of advanced adaptive freeride skiing. From beefed up mounting plates to outriggers that don’t get jammed up in powder, there is much room for improvement and we are happy to report Brody is on it.
Brody recently joined the Falling Off The Floor Podcast for a full length interview where he discussed his life-altering spinal cord injury, his achievements in the adaptive sports community and the emotional growth that comes from navigating life’s challenges. Incredible guy.
