Europe The continent of Europe is known for its massive ski resorts and modern lift infrastructure. Unsurprisingly, its ski industry is leveling up its offerings this upcoming winter.

This week, SnowStash shared its picks for the eight best new ski lifts opening in Europe during the 2024-25 season.

This list includes the Transarc Gondola at Les Arcs, the 12er NORD at Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria, the Vallon Gondola at Val-d’Isère, the Mottolino Gondola at Italy’s Livigno, the Couis-Platta de Grevon at Italy’s Pila, the FlemXpress at Laax, the Jandri Express in Les 2 Alpes, and the Schilthorn 20xx Aerial Tram in Switzerland. The Schilthorn is perhaps the most impressive of the bunch, as it will be the steepest cable car on the planet.

Ultimately, these impressive lifts show that North America’s ski industry (minus Big Sky) has some catching up to do.
