Lawrenceburg, Indiana – If you’re looking to ski this weekend, one option is heading to a small snow patch in Indiana.

This fall, Perfect North Slopes has been testing out its Latitude 90 snowmaking system. This all-weather snowmaking system makes snow at above-freezing temperatures, leading to snowy conditions on warmer days.

Here’s a description of the Latitude 90 snowmaking system:

“Waiting on cold temps?  Not anymore.  All-weather snowmaking can kickstart your season, producing snow in temperatures above traditional snowmaking equipment.

With three models to choose from, the L30, L60, and L120 are enclosed, independent snowmaking systems that withstand ambient temperatures, winds, and humidity and perfectly complement your traditional snow guns.

Latitude90 features a patented rotor to adjust flake size.  Create a larger flake size to reduce melt, or create a smaller flake for higher snow quality.

The equipment is also fully automated.  Start your machine with your mobile device, or via your SmartSnow computer.

Finally, the Latitude90 machines are built to run 24/7, so press start and let it work it’s magic!”

With this new system, Perfect North Slopes has decided to host a rail jam. They hosted one on Friday night from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and another one today from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. This is a walk-to-snow patch with two features to ride on. Participation costs $5, and you can registrater at the East Lodge patio.

This snowmaking system is being used at an increasing number of mountains, including Ski Ward and Ober Gatlinburg. It allowed Ski Ward to be the first to have lift-serviced skiing and riding in North America for the 2024-25 season.

Perfect North Slopes was already known for its snowmaking firepower, so this latest addition will likely grow its reputation.
