Solden, Austria – Last week, Lindsey Vonn celebrated her 40th birthday. She may be planning to celebrate it by adding another milestone to her illustrious skiing career.

In 2019, Lindsey Vonn retired from the FIS World Cup tour following a bronze medal finish at the 2019 World Cup in Women’s Downhill. This conclusion was an achievement based on the many injuries she had to get through. As described in Lindsey Vonn’s autobiography and HBO Sports documentary, her last seasons of competition were hampered by injuries and setbacks to her recovery. Since retirement, she’s received more surgeries but has remained involved in the ski industry, including becoming the first woman to ski the Streif and helping Salt Lake City secure the bid for the 2034 Olympics.

Over the past month or so, fans have been wondering whether Lindsey Vonn is trying to return to ski racing. One thing that made people speculate a comeback was Vonn sharing videos of her training in New Zealand.

More signs have emerged this week, as Lindsey is in Europe to train… for something. This included a stop at Red Bull’s facility to do biometrics testing.

Yesterday, she shared some pictures of her in Solden. The photo reel includes her skiing with alpine ski racing legend Corinne Sutter, who’s also on the comeback trail. Today, she shared more pictures of her training on the slopes. You can probably guess where the FIS World Cup circuit kicks off this weekend.

At this point, it is just a rumor, with no formal confirmation from Lindsey Vonn. But many signs are pointing towards a comeback, and if I were a sports bettor (I’m not, as I already waste enough money on skiing), I’d bet she’s preparing to make a comeback.
