Paraglider loses a flip flop.

Professional paraglider Kevin Philipp pulled off quite the bizarre mid-air stunt, taking off his shoes and leaving them on his friend Egor Posokhin‘s chute. The successful stunt is pretty wild to see, but it’s wilder that he dropper one of his shoes out of the air while practicing.

This was a acro-stunt gone wrong. I tried to do it over the water. Unfortunately the sandal which stuck to my friend fell off in a bad place and drifted with the wind over ground and hit a girl. The sandals are extremely light and didn’t cause any significant damage. It was our first try and we learned our lesson. Afterwards we just did it far out over the water with a boat below.

Kevin claims that his friend Sepehr Nouri is the one that met the girl (who apparently wished to stay anonymous) at a restaurant. The date clips that come after the stunt are obviously staged (they say so themselves) and the whole thing is played off as a joke.

Many people in the comments have stated their disapproval surrounding the stunt, and I don’t think it’s entirely unfair. If the flipflop hits someone as it falls it has the potential to injure them, and if the flipflop flies away never to be found again then it just becomes litter. Fortunately it seems like Kevin understand the dangers of the failure and stuck to doing the stunt over water with a boat underneath.
