When it comes to vintage snowboards, this is truly a remarkable find. Casey Buckleitner from White Birch Outfitters in Gaylord, Michigan came into his shop Sunday morning and saw an intriguing board bag on the showroom floor. As he unzipped the bag he discovered a brand spanking “new” unridden 1985 Burton Performer.
The board was dropped off by a local woman who hasn’t placed a price on it quite yet but it is sure to fetch top dollar given it’s age, mint condition and the inclusion of the original bag and bindings. We spoke with Casey about the board and his shop and were surprised to find out more about the high end vintage snowboard market with rare boards being sold for upwards of $30,000. Casey is an authority on the subject and has been buying and selling vintage boards for years.
