Guided Cat Skiing & Snowmobile Tours:
Schweitzer Backcountry Adventures invites powder hounds to explore 4,350 acres of backcountry terrain with guided snowcat ski tours and snowmobile tours.
Load the Great Escape chairlift and enjoy untapped lines ready for the taking. Go beyond the resort boundary and discover open powder fields, steep glades, and a variety natural terrain features to catch some airtime. This is a great way to dip your tips into backcountry skiing and riding with hands-on instruction on how to use proper equipment and how to safely navigate terrain. Your guide will show you all the best drop-in zones as the snowcat takes you down the 6-mile road located along the resort’s western boundary. Find your flow on this intermediate-to-advanced terrain zone that only a couple dozen skiers and riders get access to each day. With 300 inches of annual snowfall, you’re sure to find your line that powder dreams are made of.
Schweitzer Backcountry Adventures guided cat ski trips are available to book starting late 2024.
For family-friendly winter fun, Schweitzer Backcountry Adventures will also offer guided snowmobile tours starting mid-December, weather permitting. There will be two types of trips offered, each will be a thrilling adventure through the resort’s breathtaking backcountry with routes designed to showcase the rugged beauty of the landscape. The trips will be suited for everyone from seasoned snowmobilers to those trying it for the first time.
