SCHWEITZER, Idaho – Idaho’s biggest ski resort is heading into the 2024/25 ski season with quite a few upgrades, including 4,350 acres of new backcountry terrain & new guided cat skiing and snowmobile tours.

2023/24 Schweitzer ski season recap

Schweitzer‘s new 4,350 acres, acquired by purchasing Selkirk Powder’s guided backcountry snowmobile and cat ski operation, come with the launch of Schweitzer Backcountry Adventures, taking a maximum of 24 guests each day into the backcountry of Idaho. These full day excursions include up to eight runs and 10,000 vertical feet of skiing or riding through 75 west-facing fall line trails of untouched powder. The company will also offer guided snowmobile tours starting in mid-December, offering two hour options and half-day options geared towards anyone from seasoned snowmobilers to true beginners.

Schweitzer will also host snowcat dinners in February and March at the Sky House, providing a limited number of guests with a multi-course meal at 6,400 feet. Meanwhile, the Crow’s Bench will host wine pairing dinners in December, January, and April.

Additionally, the Idaho resort’s rental fleet will now include Gore-Tex shells and pants for daily rentals and an expansion of performance skis options. Plus, overnight tuning services will now be available on weekends and holidays.

Schweitzer season passes are available now, with reduced price unlimited season passes available for college students, young adults, juniors, children, and seniors. Season passes are available on the Schweitzer website.
