Park City, Utah — If you’re looking for a ski home with every amenity you could want, be ready to pay a premium price.
The Wall Street Journal reports that financial tech executive Doug Bergeron will be selling his home situated at Deer Valley Resort for $65 million. Bergeron bought the land for $3 million, and crews worked through the pandemic to bring the place to life.
The one feature that will definitely interest skiers is a private gondola that transports the homeowners and their guests from the home to a trail on Bald Eagle Mountain. The only other people that have access to the gondola are the next-door neighbors. With it running silently and charging overnight, it has drawn comparisons to a Tesla. It reminds me of a monorail, but instead, it has a gondola cabin on the tracks.
The seven-bedroom, sixteen-bath home has some fantastic features. Some of the impressive amenities include an outdoor infinity pool with panoramic views, a spa, an indoor climbing wall, an indoor basketball court with an electronic scoreboard, a two-lane bowling alley, and a golf simulator, which seems like a prerequisite for a rich person’s home.
Listing agent Paul Benson described it as having the “greatest features the market has ever seen.” Real estate agents love to sugarcoat and exaggerate things, but I believe he’s being truthful here because I’d buy it if I had that kind of money.
