Val d’Isère Ski Resort new Vallon Gondola project update

The folks at POMA chairlifts just provided this status update from Val d’Isère Ski Resort in France where they are making progression the new Vallon Gondola set to make its debut in November.

The updated gondola will have an increased capacity from 6 passengers to 10 for the quick journey up the Pissaillas Glacier. The installation will cause minimal impact on wild flora and fauna as it will follow the existing route and the 32 pylons from the lift will be removed. Val d’Isère is also committed to transplanting the protected flowers that grow in the redevelopment zone.

Soon the new cabins will be soaring above the Iseran Massif whisking skiers and snowboarders between the base and top stations in 6.5 minutes!
