Gilford, New Hampshire — It’s been another busy offseason at Gunstock Mountain Resort.

Some of the changes include hiring a new General Manager, redesigning the Upper Ramrod trail, building a visitors center for its campground and Nordic trails, and expanding the Stockade Lodge’s deck.

Perhaps their biggest project this offseason is adding snowmaking to two trails that haven’t had snowmaking before. This offseason, Gunstock Mountain Resort is adding snowmaking infrastructure to the Upper Ramrod and Hot Shot trails. This gives them more terrain that will be open more frequently off the summit/Panorama Express.

This week, Gunstock Mountain gave an update on the snowmaking projects on Upper Ramrod and Hot Shot. Upper Ramrod is adding a new section to avoid the runout, and is adding snowmaking pipe and snowguns to the piste.

They also detailed the work done on Hot Shot. This advanced run was rarely open because it relied on a natural snowpack. Over 8,000 feet of snowmaking pipe and 70 new HKD impulse snowmaking guns are being added to allow for a swift opening during a cold snap.

Ultimately, one commenter described these projects way better than I can:

“You folks are aggressively working to have the best season ever!”
