JACKSON HOLE, Wyoming – Most of us have heard of Corbet’s Couloir at this point. The legendary Jackson Hole run is home to one of the best freeride competitions out there (Kings & Queens of Corbet’s), and creates some of the wildest on-resort clips you can get. But when the snow sucks, Corbet’s will rip apart even some of the best skiers. Like this day, when person after person was taken down by the run.
Watch
Jackson Hole gets an average of 458 inches of snowfall every year, or around 38 feet, so there are plenty of days where Corbet’s Couloir has snow good enough to run it. If you’re visiting for just a few days, the pressure to ski the run while you’re there makes sense, but if it doesn’t look right, don’t send it. Save it for when you know you can do it.
