Tourist hit by wave @ Nusa Penida Arch

Nusa Penida is a relatively undeveloped island off the coast of Bali know for its natural beauty. Visitors to Nusa Penida can explore secluded lagoons, secret coves, uncrowded beaches and walk across a natural arch that encloses a place called Broken Beach.

The archway is popular with tourists who can freely walk across it and enjoy commanding views while water rushes below their feet. On a day when the seas are calm walking on the arch isn’t without its risks, but when the water is roiling it can be extremely dangerous.

This video showcases the extreme peril of hanging out on the arch when the waves are firing. Thankfully no was swept over the edge but at least one man was knocked to the ground by the spray.
